Abbey Road Pub & Restaurant
Good Food, Good Times, 101 International Beers.
203 22nd Street, Virginia Beach, Virginia

"It was twenty years ago today, Sgt. Pepper
taught the band to play" and it was more than twenty years ago
today when the bands began to play, right here at Abbey Road. Owner
Bill Dillon has been bringing the best in live entertainment and
good food to the residents and visitors of Tidewater since Abbey
Road was established in 1982. Our fresh seafood, beef, and pasta
dishes are summed up by The Virginian Pilot's restaurant review
headline: "Abbey Road Leads Diners to a Satisfying Evening," and
our great entertainment is confirmed by Hampton Road's Port Folio
Magazine: "Abbey Road is the Best Acoustic Venue in Tidewater,
offering the best and the most variety"
After spending three and
a half years in the food service industry bussing and waiting tables,
Dillon decided in the summer of 1982 to open his own restaurant
in the resort area of Virginia Beach. Having been heavily influenced
by the Beatles when growing up, thanks to his two older sisters
who listened to their records all the time, he decided to name it
'Abbey Road' after the last album the Beatles recorded before they
split up in 1970 (thanks, Yoko).
Among the nightly entertainment,
many national, regional, and local musicians have performed at Abbey
Road since 1982, including:
Richie Havens, Ronee Blakely,
Livingston Taylor, The Ventures, Rick Roberts of Firefall,
Robert Hunter of the Grateful Dead, Robbin Thompson, Gove
Scrivener, Lewis McGehee, David Lamborne, Lisa Noel, Mike
Proffitt, Karl Werne, Chuck Bird, David Petretto, The
Perpetrators, Suzy & The Naturals, Catapult, The Barrys, T.K.
Llegs, Instant Karma, Acoustic Ceiling, Norman Harrell, Chuck
‘Coyote’ Larson, Tammy Gardner, Snuff, Lennon/McCartney The 60’s
Beat, Vintage, Blvd. 58, Robbie House, Eddie Williams, Tim
Hopkins, The Robbin Thompson Band, The Mike Proffitt Band, Karl
Werne & Eddie Williams with Curtis Eley, Lawrence Lambert, Sean
Michael Dargon, Elaine Dempsey, Cameron Dye, The Snard Brothers,
Kim Cleveland, Miss Chevious, The London Bridge Band, Eight Days
a Week, Tim Beasley as John Lennon.
"Thanks for the last twenty years. Here's to twenty more."
"I'll buy you a diamond ring my friend if it makes you feel
alright..."
